Giant Crystal Caves of Mexico

Draining water from underground caverns for mining, geologists have discovered caves in Mexico which contain giant crystal formations. The caves are normally filled with heated water, which allows the gypsum crystals to grow to enormous sizes. Even though the caverns are now drained by pumps, the researchers still must wear cooled protective suits, and can only spend a limited time in the hot environment.
